ACQUISITION

Caspar was identified through pattern analysis of Gulf shipping intelligence that appeared in three separate Omani-language trade publications between October and December 2025. The analysis was too precise for a journalist and too current for an academic. The sourcing suggested access to port authority communications that are not indexed publicly.

I made contact through a professional intermediary in Muscat whose identity I will not disclose. Caspar agreed to communicate on the condition that his reporting would not be attributed to any national intelligence service. He was specific about this. He said he had been misattributed before and that it had cost him.

His name is not Caspar.

ASSESSMENT

Caspar is the most reliable source in this network by conventional metrics. His reporting on IRGC Navy fleet movements has been verified against satellite imagery on eleven of twelve occasions. The twelfth could not be confirmed due to cloud cover, not contradiction.

He has contacts inside the Omani foreign ministry — at minimum, someone with access to the scheduling systems for the February 6 indirect talks. He provided the corridor layout of the venue, the arrival sequence, and a detail about the Iranian delegation's vehicle configuration that I later confirmed through CCTV acquisition.

He has not been asked to cover Geneva. He has not volunteered to. I note this without further comment.

Assessed risk: moderate. Caspar operates within a professional network that is aware of his activities at some level. His communication security is better than Maren's was. He uses timed-deletion protocols and has never transmitted from the same device twice in a seven-day window.
